Department of Neurosurgery (Stroke), as an independent department within the Stroke Center, is responsible for surgical treatment of stroke while maintaining a close relationship with the Department of Neurology (Stroke) and Neuro-endovascular Therapy.
Only our department is specialized in the craniotomy of stroke (cerebrovascular disorder) among university hospitals nationwide, all staff members have extensive experience in surgery for stroke and we respond around the clock to emergency operation of stroke patients transported day and night.
In addition, we also perform surgery to prevent future stroke actively while ensuring adequate safety. Especially for small nonruptured cerebral aneurysms, key hole surgery with a noninvasive small incision has been standardized. Also patients with highly difficult aneurysms such as a gigantic cerebral aneurysm which has been judged impossible to treat at other hospitals, cerebral arteriovenous malformations, and angiomas are also actively accepted.
We are proud of being “always acceptance” in principle for patients with cerebrovascular disorders requiring surgical treatment, and all the staff is working day and night to maintain and improve surgical techniques.
Subarachnoid hemorrhage (ruptured cerebral aneurysm), nonruptured cerebral aneurysm, highly difficult (gigantic, thrombosed, etc.), cerebral aneurysm, intracerebral hemorrhage / intraventricular hemorrhage, cerebral arteriovenous malformation / cavernous angioma / other malformations, carotid artery stenosis, internal carotid artery occlusion / Moyamoya disease, spasm after stroke
