Our department mainly treats cerebral infarction and ischemic stroke such as transient ischemic attack (TIA). It consists of the Stroke Center with specialists of the departments of Neurosurgery (Stroke), Neuro-endovascular Therapy and Rehabilitation.
Our Stroke Center with experienced staff and the latest medical equipment has established a system that can provide highly specialized medical treatment of all strokes 24/7, 365 days a year. Since 2005, hyper-acute thrombolysis using t-PA (tissue plasminogen activator: alteplase) has become possible in our country as well. If it is within several hours after the onset of “cerebral infarction”, dissolving thrombus in occluded vessel may restore blood flow and lead to recovery. In addition, in cooperation with the Department of Neuro-endovascular Therapy, we perform catheter revascularization when it is considered to be an indication.
Cerebrovascular disease, syncopal attack as emergency nervous system disease, epilepsy, meningitis / encephalitis, myasthenia, migraine, neurology diseases including, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, spinocerebellar degeneration
