Department of Critical Care and Emergency belongs to the Emergency / Trauma Center which is a sub-center of the Critical Care and Emergency Center, and the staff of the department provides examination / treatment for severe / serious shock / trauma, burn injury, acute intoxication, acute respiratory failure, acute renal failure, and severe infection, etc.
Just as myocardial infarction and stroke are treated by specialized teams, for trauma, appropriate initial medical care by trauma team and subsequent treatment developing is regarded as most important.
Our hospital is certified as a designated facility of Board Certified Member / Instructor of Japanese Association for Acute Medicine and a training facility for Board Certified Member of the Japanese Association for the Surgery of Trauma. Centering on the department staff physicians of Critical Care and Emergency who are board certified acute care physicians / instructors of Japanese Association for Acute Medicine with certified instructor and provider of Japan Advanced Trauma Evaluation and Care (JATEC) accredited by Japanese Association for Acute Medicine, board certified member of the Japanese Association for the Surgery of Trauma and board certified orthopedist, when necessary, we constitute a trauma team including general surgeons, neurosurgeons, and plastic surgeons. In this way, we are responsible for clinical care from appropriate and prompt initial diagnosis / medical care to treatment after hospitalization including surgery, intensive care and rehabilitation, struggling to decrease “preventable trauma death” and “preventable disability” in cooperation with the local fire department.

Severe / serious shock / trauma, severe infection, burn injury, acute intoxication, acute respiratory failure, acute renal failure, acute coronary syndrome (angina, myocardial infarction), heart failure, stroke (cerebral infarction, cerebral hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage ), disturbance of consciousness, etc.
