We provide medical care mainly on hematopoietic tumors such as leukemia and malignant lymphoma, and hematopoietic disorders such as aplastic anemia and myelodysplastic syndrome.
Our department belongs to Japan Adult Leukemia Study Group (JALSG) and a research group on idiopathic hematopoietic disorder, and provides chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and immunosuppressive therapy, etc. according to its treatment protocol. We are also actively performing clinical trials of new therapeutic agents. We are actively engaged in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in cases of hematopoietic tumors that are difficult to cure with normal chemotherapy and cases of aplastic anemia with transplantation indications. Since our hospital is designated as a certified transplant facility for the bone marrow bank and the umbilical cord blood bank, we perform not only bone marrow transplantation between relatives but also peripheral blood stem cell transplantation, as well as a number of unrelated bone marrow transplantation and cord blood transplantation.
*Multiple myeloma, hemorrhagic diseases are responded by the Department of Blood Medicine of Saitama Medical University Hospital.
